IN THIS LESSON

It is now time to fill & process your jars. This is the fun part!

  1. Prepare the food according to the recipe directions. I like to use the resources listed in Module 1 for finding tried, true, & tested recipes.

  2. I like to heat my jars and water in the canner at the same time. When your food is ready to be packed use your jar lifters to pour hot water from the jar back into the canner.

  3. Place a funnel into your jar & begin adding whatever food you are processing into your hot jar. Make sure to fill your jar to the proper headspace (listed in the recipe).

  4. Use a debubbling tool to remove air bubbles.

  5. Wipe ims with vinegar as shown in the video above.

  6. Place flats & rings onto your jar, fingertip tight. Careful not to over tighten.
